How to stop guacamole from going brown
Avocados usually turn brown when they come in contact with air. There are a few steps to stop it from browning. 1. Pour it into an airtight container. 2. Give it a bang to remove excess air bubbles. 3. Cover your guacamole with a thin layer of olive oil or warm water.
By following this process, your guacamole can stay green for at least 3-4 days in the fridge.
When you’re serving it, just pour off the liquid.
Process of Avocado Spread Recipe
- Prepare the Avocados: Cut 1 beautifully ripe avocado in half, and scoop it into a bowl.
- Mash: Use a fork to mash the avocados to your desired consistency—smooth or chunky.
- Mix Ingredients: Add the chopped onion, diced tomato, lime juice, and salt. Finally, add some cilantro if you like. I personally love the fresh cilantro flavour.
- Stir: Gently fold everything together until well combined.
- Serve: Enjoy immediately with tortilla chips, or use them as a topping for your favourite dishes
